ABOUT SHRIMP

hi! for anyone nosy (i don't judge, i lurked for years), here's some info about me :)

basic

you can call me ebi or shrimp, or an insult of your choice. i've gotten "freak" a lot lately. i enjoy eating shrimp, i'm short in real life, and... you know. ritsukoP stuff. old habits die hard. i'm in my mid-20s and a lesbian, girl, all that. i live with a really adorable tortie cat. due to irl circumstances, i have a lot more free time than i'd like, and mental health is iffy. some of my favorite animals are snails (and mollusks as a whole), cats, axolotls, lizards... in general i have a lot of affection for Creatures, but i don't like dogs. i like rescuing bugs that get trapped in the house and coaxing them to safety outside. empathy is never misplaced, i think. i try to practice it as much as i can, because kindness isn't a default state, it's a choice. if i had to say what i value most, it's honesty!

hobbies

for things that i do (activities), i enjoy drawing a lot. digital art has been a timesuck for me for as long as i've been using a computer. i wrote a lot in the past but have fallen out of it recently. i love listening to music, probably more than the average person. i started learning japanese (self taught) at like, twelve or something years old, and at some point i got really hooked on reading fanfic on pixiv. every night before bed i open up a favorite! i love digging for info online about long dead forgotten mobile games and projects, reading about bugs and cut content (and in particular gen1 pokemon's baffling coding choices), and trying out things that seem cool on a whim. i ran a raspberry pi for a bit. i dualboot windows with linux but the former gets much more use because my art program is windows only. i've done various translation (JP to EN) projects over the years and that's very fun for me, especially audio-based with aegisub (but i'm good at typesetting too). i have a virtualdub setup in 2024 because handbrake doesn't handle .ASS subtitles with weird framerates the way i needed it to. i'm autistic (legit, not in an offensive channer way), you get the picture.

for things that i like (interests), i've been reading yuri actively for over a decade, so that's a big one. i especially love yuri history, works from the 70s-80s as well as newer works that left a strong impact. i have a small physical collection that i'm trying to build up more too! these days i'm into umamusume, but overall my tastes tend to be kind of boomer ojisan adjacent, so i'm drawn to old eroge/galge, doujin culture, etc. i love first vision imas, ~2010 vocaloid (especially act1 rinchan), girlfriend kari, bits and pieces of jojimuke stuff like precure and aikatsu, hayate no gotoku, the classic leaf trio (toheart, white album, comipa (none of the sequels)), tamagotchi, pokemon RSE, dream c club, saki (anime)... i've been getting into bee train anime, because dot hack sign was fantastic and noir has been great so far too. i love niche works of art that are indulgent and full of love. if i could be reborn as anything, i'd want to look like a poyoyon rock loli with a knee bandaid. this list isn't exhaustive, but it should give you a decent idea!
